Tom's Top Titles of 2020

At the end of the year, it's become customary for folk to share their Top Ten Titles of the year. We asked our editorial team what their Top Ten would be - we made them pick 5 IVP/Apollos books, and 5 that we didn't publish! Tom Creedy is our Digital Marketing Editor, and these are his Top Ten Books of 2020, in no particular order...

Wrestling With My Thoughts by Sharon Hastings - as a fellow sufferer, I saw my experience reflected, and was reminded again of God's goodness and faithfulness in pain. A poignant gem of a book.
Engaging with The Holy Spirit by Graham A Cole - a superb short introduction to the Holy Spirit, based on an Oak Hill School of Theology.
Healthy Faith and the Coronavirus Crisis, edited by Kristi Mair and Luke Cawley - a madcap project, that I keep returning to personally for practical and spiritual advice in these strange times.
Words of Life by Tim Ward - this is a brilliant older book about the Bible, and what evangelicals believe about it.
Story Bearer by Phil Knox - I found this a helpful and exciting book on evangelism, that stood out for it's humour, bible overview, and engaging manner

A Change of Heart by Thomas C. Oden - I was blown away by this book. Part theological memoir, part theological reflection, this is a stirring encouragement to stay faithful.
Blessed: A History of the American Prosperity Gospel by Kate Bowler - a beautifully written, sobering book. Every pastor should read this.
Doing Theology with the Reformers by Gerald L. Bray - this book looks like an introduction, but reads like a riveting novel! A brilliant book that I hope more people will read.
The Farm by Joanne Ramos - the most haunting novel I read this year, dealing with themes of fertility, feminity, power, immigration and more.
One Assembly by Jonathan Leeman - a prophetic book about what the church is, and a real challenge to us in the age of COVID. I'll be returning to this in the future!

That's Tom's Top Ten for 2020, and the five IVP titles are available to buy here - the others should be available at local bookshops or online.
