Celebrating the Legacy of William Wilberforce at The Integrity Fix Launch

More than 400 people gathered at Holy Trinity Clapham on Monday evening to celebrate the launch of The Integrity Fix, Jago Wynne's new book exploring what the life of William Wilberforce can teach us about spiritual and societal renewal today.

The event formed part of Holy Trinity Clapham's 250th anniversary celebrations and brought together readers, church members, politicians and friends for an evening reflecting on the continuing influence of one of Britain's most significant Christian reformers.

Guests arrived to the sound of live jazz and enjoyed drinks and conversation before Jago opened the evening by introducing Wilberforce and the remarkable legacy he left behind. From his role in the abolition of the slave trade to his passion for moral and spiritual renewal, Wilberforce's impact continues to be felt far beyond the history books.

One of the highlights of the evening was a conversation between Jago and three MPs from across the political spectrum: Marsha de Cordova, John Glen and Tim Farron. It was encouraging to hear how Wilberforce's example continues to inspire those serving in public life today. While their political perspectives differed, each spoke about the importance of integrity, conviction and faithfulness in leadership- three incredibly important qualities that defined Wilberforce's life and work.

The evening also included a moving performance of Amazing Grace by Liselotte Ostblom. In a room gathered to remember the Clapham legacy, the hymn served as a poignant reminder of the Christian faith that shaped Wilberforce and many of those who worked alongside him for social change.

Jago then shared the vision and motivation behind his latest book The Integrity Fix. Drawing on Wilberforce's story, he explored the connection between personal integrity and lasting cultural transformation, inviting listeners to consider how renewal begins not simply with programmes or policies but with changed hearts and lives.

Following remarks from our Publishing Director, Tom Creedy, guests had the opportunity to purchase copies of The Integrity Fix, meet Jago and continue conversations over drinks well into the evening.

Seeing hundreds of people gather at the launch was a fitting tribute to Wilberforce's enduring legacy. The evening served as a reminder that the themes that shaped his life of faith, character, courage and a commitment to public good, remain as relevant today as they were 250 years ago.

The Integrity Fix is available now to buy in paperback and eBook here.
