About us
Inter-Varsity Press (IVP) publishes Christian books that are true to the Bible and that communicate the gospel, develop discipleship and strengthen the church for its mission throughout the world.
As a British publisher, we aim to be at the centre of the UK evangelical church's conversation both nationally and internationally. We seek to have a global reach and impact through worldwide distribution, licensing and partnerships.
IVP began in the 1930s as the publishing wing of UCCF, and is now a subsidiary charity of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge (SPCK), an Anglican mission organisation and publisher. Engaging students and the academy are crucial to our mission, and we remain committed to publishing books true to the UCCF Basis of Faith.

Apollos

Apollos is home to our academic publications, as well as titles for readers seeking to go deeper in study. This includes our acclaimed series New Studies in Biblical Theology (edited by D.A. Carson) and the Apollos Old Testament Commentary (edited by David W. Baker and Beth M. Stovell).
The Apollos imprint gets its name from the story of Apollos in the book of Acts – a new convert whose prior learning paved the way for followers of Jesus to understand the Gospel. Today, Apollos provides tools to help Christians engage in conversations between the church and academy.
Led by Publishing Director Thomas Creedy, we are open for submissions and keen to engage in the important academic and ecclesiastical conversations not only in but also ahead of our time.
