After the unique year that has been 2020, we are delighted to be able to start sharing with you our titles for 2021. In January 2021 we are publishing four books that cover some of the most challenging topics facing the church today.
What should Christians make of Artificial Intelligence?
The longest release for the month is Jeremy Peckham's Masters or Slaves? AI and the Future of Humanity. The author has spent his career working in AI as a scientist and entrepreneur, so is brilliantly placed to engage with these issues. This careful book looks at the theological and technological issues at play in the rise of AI. One early reader wrote:
"Written by an expert, it is historically situated, technologically informed, well-modulated in tone, coherent in argument, theological in orientation, and judicious in illustrations. More than a book of conclusions, its design and structure model the best in the art of robust critique while offering possible ways to consider the appropriate deployment of Artificial Intelligence."
You can order your copy now, in both ebook and paperback formats.
What is our sexuality for?
The shortest book we are publishing in January 2021 is Ed Shaw's Purposeful Sexuality: A Short Christian Introduction. This is a quick, punchy introduction to a vital topic.
Ed is well known and respected as a speaker and writer in this space, with his book The Plausibiltiy Problem being someting of a best-seller. In this little book Ed asks the question before a lot of other questions: what does it mean to be a sexual being? And how can Christians think about the purpose of our sexuality? You can order your copy now, in both ebook and paperback formats.
How can we face the grief of baby loss?
Silent Cries by Jonny and Joanna Ivey is the third of our titles this month that focus in on real issues facing people. This carefully crafted, beautifully written book about baby loss shares Jonny and Joanna's story, and is a blend of biography and biblical reflection. Around 1 in 4 pregnancies in the UK end in miscarriage - in Silent Cries Jonny and Joanna lift the lid on their experience, and offer a deeply biblical response. You can order your copy now, in both ebook and paperback formats.
Where can we find hope for 2021?
Finally for January 2021 is the 2020 Keswick Yearbook, on the theme of Hope. We publish this in partnership with Keswick Ministries each year - collecting together the best of the talks, seminars, lectures and other events that comprise the convetion. This year's yearbook is on the theme of Hope, and will be available to order soon.
