With the Keswick Convention 2024 fast approaching (13th July – 2nd August), IVP is delighted to be publishing the official Theme Book for this year's convention on 'Resurrection- – plus a new 365 Devotional with contributions from top-tier Keswick preachers. June also sees the release of a fully revised Bible commentary by New Testament Scholar Wayne Grudem.
Mark Meynell’s new book, Life After Life: Why Jesus Means Death Isn’t The End has as its focus what the Resurrection means for believers, both now and eternally. Building on his hugely successful Cross-Examined, first published over two decades ago (but recently updated), Meynell’s interest this time is not in facts nor evidence for the Resurrection but in showing how it has always been integral to God’s plan for creation, as demonstrated throughout the Old Testament. As such, Meynell argues, it should be central to Christian life today: a life to come which begins now. Using contemporary illustrations, he offers the reader a hopeful new perspective from which to consider the present world and to contemplate the future of an Earth re-made. Mark will also be leading a seminar series during the third week of Keswick.
Senior Commissioning Editor, Joshua Wells says, ‘IVP has a long-standing relationship with the Keswick Convention, and we are proud to be partnering with them again for 2024's theme book, Life After Life. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the author, Mark Meynell, to point readers to the hope found in the resurrection of Christ.’
Continuing the subject of Keswick, the second Food For The Journey 365 devotional edited by Elizabeth McQuoid also launches this month with three previously unpublished themes – The Holy Spirit, Suffering and Grace – and an introduction from the previous Director of Keswick Ministries and now Principal of Oak Hill College, James Robson. Ideal for readers seeking daily teaching and encouragement, from popular Keswick preachers including Rico Tice, Don Carson, Tim Chester, Vaughan Roberts and Peter Maiden, this numbered devotional can be started at any point and enjoyed the whole year round.
‘…deeply rooted in Scripture, rich in application and simultaneously thought-provoking and heart-warming. I recommend it enthusiastically.’ J.John, author and speaker.

And finally, for our June releases. Nearly four decades after the publication of his commentary on 1 Peter, Wayne Grudem has produced a fully revised edition of Peter’s short letter ‘to the exiles of the Dispersion’ which builds on his original work. Part of the TNTC (Tyndale New Testament Commentary) series, it bears all the hallmarks of this most trusted resource for Bible Study, with discussions of authorship, date, historical background etc. as well as the many relevant topics which feature in this letter – holiness, suffering, Sovereignty and Grace, Holy Spirit, the Church, the unseen spiritual world and trusting God amidst the challenges of daily life - all brought together by Grudem under one central theme: that of suffering as a form of imitating Christ.
According to Editorial Director, Thomas Creedy, ‘Wayne Grudem’s commentary on 1 Peter has been an evangelical staple for decades. This revised edition reflects the fruit of the subsequent decades of prayerful research. Wayne suggested 6,000 total changes – watching him and Series Editor Eckhard Schnabel debate each of those in the editorial process has been a rare privilege. This commentary should continue to serve the church for decades to come.’ You can find out more and order your copy in paperback and ebook here.
