The IVP July 2021 Releases

We are proud to be the official publisher for the Keswick Convention - and this month sees the publication of two new resources on the convention theme, 'Faithful'. Particularly essential for those going to the Convention this year (Have you booked yet?) is the study guide on the theme. You can order your copy now in both paperback and ebook editions, and it publishes alongside our other July releases on the 15th of the month. We've also got a fresh new Food for the Journey Devotional, which Wrestling With My Thoughts (and Keswick Seminar Speaker!) Sharon Hastings found encouraging: "I felt challenged to greater faithfulness – not when life might improve, but right now in my place of struggle." You can order your copy now in both paperback and ebook editions. Whether or not you are heading to the Convention, you can see our growing range of Keswick Resources here.

Also speaking at Keswick this year is Pete Nicholas, pastor at Inspire in London, and coauthor previously of Virtually Human. Pete's new book, A Place for God: Navigating Timeless Questions for our Modern Times is aimed squarely at the questions being asked in our culture around meaning and truth - particularly by the Millennial generation. We think it does what Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis did for the postwar generation, and Tim Keller's The Reason for God did slightly more recently. Tim Keller agrees, as he notes at the close of his foreword:

"I could not be more encouraged by Pete’s book. We need an entire movement of writers and thinkers who, like Pete, can distil the wisdom of the far past and also of the more recent work of philosophers, theologians and social scientists, to help people navigate the cross-currents of our secular age. If you are looking for someone to help you address the unprecedented challenges people face today to find community, a meaning that suffering can’t take away, a hope that endures lifelong, and a secure and resilient identity – start here."

A Place for God by Pete Nicholas can be ordered in both ebook and paperback now!

Our final new release for July 2021 is From Pentecost to Patmos - Acts to Revelation: An Introduction and Survey by Craig Blomberg and Darlene M. Seal, with Alicia M. Dupree. Together with Blomberg's Jesus and the Gospels, From Pentecost to Patmos completes our updated New Testament Introduction - the perfect pair of textbooks for students, or reference tool for pastors. This second edition refreshes this venerable resource, bringing it right up to date, conversant with the latest scholarship, and is available to order in both hardback and digital editions now.
