The IVP September 2021 Releases

The smallest book we are publishing this month is perhaps the one that we hope will have the greatest impact. Joining Marcus Nodder's I Am is Martin Salter's So Loved: 26 Words That Can Change Your Life. This is a short, readable and attractive evangelistic book - designed to be given away to friends. It would be perfect for CU giveaways, church missions, or simply reading with a friend. Martin unpacks John 3:16, focusing on the way that God's love is expressed, and engages winsomely with objections and questions. Why not order a copy now? It might be perfect for someone in your life who you long to discover the transforming love of Jesus.

Significantly longer, and from our Apollos imprint, comes Alexander Irving's We Believe: Exploring the Nicene Faith. This substantial book explores both how we got the theology of the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, and what the historical development of this statement of faith can say to us today. The great 'we believe' of the Creeds summarise the key teachings of the Bible about vital matters of faith - and Irving has done the church and academy a service in this deep and rich book. You can order your copy in print and ebook format now.

Our final release for September 2021 is a replacement volume in the Tyndale New Testament Commentary series. This new volume on Romans has been written by David Garland, Professor of Christian Scriptures at George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Baylor University, in the USA. It replaces the classic volume by F. F. Bruce, most recently updated in 2008, but originally published in 1963 (though substantially revised in 1985). Garland keeps to the same classic Tyndale style, but with all the benefits of increased textual understanding and engagement with decades of scholarship.
