The IVP November 2022 Releases

The IVP November 2022 Releases

After a big release month in October - some solid entries in legacy series, and a serious book tying into Reformation Day - we've got a carefully curated trilogy of titles out this month.

The big release this month is the latest entry in the Bible Speaks Today Themes series - The Message of the Second Coming by Steve Motyer. Distilling the gold in his excllent Come, Lord Jesus, and tracking the theme through the whole of Scripture, this is a book to help us get perspective in these 'unprecedent times', and to go back to the Bible to think about what comes next. The Message of the Second Coming is out in paperback and ebook, and you can order your copy now.

Coming up close in terms of contributors, page count and topic for the top spot is a new book on Christianity and Politics - A Mucky Business by Tim Farron, Josh Price, Jo Latham, Megan Hills, Micah Parmour, and Daniel Payne. Christians should get involved with politics - and Tim/Josh/Jo/Megan/Micah/Daniel have thought about this deeply for a long time. Michael Wear, who was involved in Obama's White House, writes:

"this book will be a great encouragement to all who have grown weary of our politics, and I believe it will empower Christians to make a difference for good"

We agree.

You can order your copy of A Mucky Business: Why Christians Should Get Involved In Politics in paperback and ebook now, or you can hang on for the audiobook release. Due to the evolving political situation, getting the authors in the studio to record the audiobook has proved [checks notes] 'a mucky business'.

Our final tile releasing in November 2022 is a follow on from 2021's Purposeful Sexuality by Ed Shaw. Finding Your Best Identity by Andrew Bunt is a short, punchy and personal look at what it means to discover who you are - and live in the light of it. This little book blends together careful biblical teaching, sound theology, and Andrew's own experience. Or, as Preston Sprinkle puts it:

"Andrew combines biblical precision with pastoral compassion as he addresses two fundamental questions: who are we? And how do we know? We live in a world where a myriad of voices and influences are trying to tell us who we are. Andrew graciously navigates us through the confusion and offers a theologically compelling case for finding our best identity—one that actually leads to human flourishing."

You can order Finding Your Best Identity in paperback or ebook formats now!
