Wondering about the history of Christianity in the British Isles? Pondering how faith and art fit together, and whether or not creativity really matters? This month's releases have got you covered - and we've also got an update on the much-anticipated ESV Search the Scriptures Bible.

The big release - in size, at least - is Gerald Bray's magisterial new 700 page plus tome: The History of Christianity in Britain and Ireland: From the First Century to the Twenty-First. Gerald is a well known theologian and historian, and as such is uniquely placed to tackle a project of this scale. Accessible to a general readership, The History of Christianity in Britain and Ireland draws on current scholarship to serve as a reference work for students of both history and theology. At the other end of the page-count spectrum - though, we think, with rather more overlap than you might expect - is our second release for June 2021: Alastair Gordon's Why Art Matters: A Call for Christians to Create. Through word and image, blending his own art with deep theological reflection and practical application, Ally explores God's call for us to be creative. As Makoto Fujimura, artist and author of Art+Faith: A Theology of Making writes, this book is "Suffused with wisdom, joy and wonder". You can order your copy in both paperback and ebook format now! Finally, though it was technically one of our May Releases, the ESV Search the Scriptures Bible has been a bit delayed. In light of that, we've discounted it for preorders (you can save £10 on the hardback, and save £20 on the leather edition!) - and our printers have sent us this video, which we hope gives you a bit of insight into the final parts of the process of printing and finishing a Bible!
