The IVP January 2022 Releases*

A New Year, a new month, and another new round of releases. We've got four new books to talk about this month*.

First up is a brand new entry in the NSBT series, editedby D. A. Carson. Christopher Morgan and Robert Peterson have penned 'The Glory of God and Paul: Texts, themes and theology', which traces the roots of Paul's theology of the glory of God from it's foundations in the biblical drama of creation, fall, redemption and consummation, and in the identity of Jesus.

Carson writes, "Morgan and Peterson embark on a careful inductive analysis of the use of the expression in Paul, book by book – the most controlled form of biblical theology – before attempting a thoughtful synthesis. Before taking up this topic in the future, the wisest preachers and teachers will want to consult this book".

In December we published a new book from veteran pastor and author Paul Beasley-Murray. 'There is Hope! Preaching at Funerals' is a book that does exactly what it says on the cover - Paul shares sermons and wisdom from his long pastoral experience, including the sermon he preached at his mother's funeral. There are also extensive exegetical notes on the passages preached. This is an essential tool for any preacher - and also a readable and hope-filled book for any Christian looking to root hope in the resurrection of Jesus. Finally we've got two fresh LifeBuilder Studies, perfect for small group study or personal devotional use. Dale and Sandy Larsen's classic study on Gratitude is the perfect topic, rooted in scripture, to start a New Year with. You can order your copy in paper or digital format now. Belonging, by Deborah Abbs, explores the biblical understanding of what 'inclusion' means, in the context of Christian community rooted in the Bible.  You can order your copy in paper or digital format now!

*There is Hope by Paul Beasley-Murray actually published just before Christmas, but we thought it would make a great book for pastors and preachers to be aware of at the start of the New Year!
