Terry's Writing Something...

IVP is delighted to share one of our latest acquisitions, a new book by Terry Virgo, the founder of Newfrontiers.

Newfrontiers is a worldwide family of churches together on a mission to establish the kingdom of God by restoring the church, making disciples, training leaders and planting churches. Newfrontiers serves 1,500+ churches across 70 countries. 

A well-known Bible teacher, Terry speaks at conferences internationally. He hosted the Stoneleigh Bible Week and annual Together On A Mission conference in the UK, which drew thousands of delegates from around the world. At the final Together On A Mission conference in 2011, Newfrontiers was redefined as a network of apostolic spheres worldwide, and Terry passed the leadership on to fifteen apostolic leaders.

About the Book

Terry's written a number of books before, and his latest echoes his teacher's heart, disciple's soul, and deep love for the Bible. Titled My Treasured Possession, Terry blends a careful reading of the story of the life of Moses with humour, insight and reflections on over 50 years of ministry. We'll be sharing plenty more about the book in the run up to publication next year!

Terry writes:

"A lot of people find it easier to learn about God through reading stories rather than studying concepts and wrestling with principles. We can identify with people, their victories, difficulties, defeats. We are told to ‘imitate those who through faith and patience inherited the promises’ (Heb. 6:12). So, having models to imitate is helpful, but if we are to imitate successfully, we need to study their experience carefully.

I pray that My Treasured Possession will not merely be a collection of stories from the life of Moses, but serve as a warning, an encouragement, a signpost on your journey that you might arrive strengthened and fortified as you observe His ways and His faithfulness with His people. These things were written down for our instruction.

I'm excited to see how God will use this book, and am honoured to be working with IVP, given our shared love of the Bible and passion for Jesus."
