Recent Awards and Recognition for IVP/Apollos titles

We were delighted to share back in September that John Stott on Creation Care had been shortlisted for best jacket/cover design by the British Book Design and Production Awards. This is prestigious secular design award - and on turning up at the awards ceremony, team members attending were impressed by the breadth and creativity of the industry - and so we were thrilled to learn that John Stott on Creation Care was 'Highly Commended' by the judges - along with a major art book on Queen Elizabeth the Second, and losing out to a stunning book about guitars, with a £275 price tag!

IVP Editorial Director Thomas Creedy, who commissioned John Stott on Creation Care, said:

"It was a thrill to see one of our books on a screen at an awards ceremony, and even more encouraging that the judging panel understood that the design and environmental quality of the book were a direct overflow of the book's message. The team did a fantastic job on both the design and production of this book, and is a real credit to them that this is the first Christian book we are aware of to be 'Highly Commended'. Stott's pursuit of obedience to God's call on humanity for creation is a fascinating read, and it is encouraging to see this commendation for this book"

IVP is proud to publish thoughtful books that are true to the Bible from across the global evangelical church - and so we were thrilled to learn of an award for another book, published in 2022 on our Apollos imprint. Chee-Chiew Lee's When Christians Face Persecution: Theological Perspectives from the New Testament is a concise and careful study of the issues the title alludes to, and won an award aimed at encouraging Chinese theological research. Chee-Chiew, who serves as Senior Dean, Programme Development; Dean, Advanced Studies, and Associate Professor in the School of Theology (Chinese) at Singapore Bible College, explains:

"In order to raise the standard of Chinese theological research, the Rev. Dr. Lien-hwa Chou Memorial Foundation established the Outstanding Theological Academic Research Work Award to encourage Chinese scholars who published excellent theological works with academic originality. I am very encouraged that my book, When Christians Face Persecution, has received this award, and I am grateful for their affirmation."

Chee-Chiew also shared this video of her award speech, with English subtitles.

Both books can be purchased from your book shop of choice, or you can find them on our website with delivery worldwide.
