IVP is Growing: Meet our new Marketing Manager!

IVP is Growing: Meet our new Marketing Manager!

We recently hired a new Marketing Manager, Rochelle Owusu-Antwi. Just as we did with our Publishing Board, we asked her some questions, to fuel readers' prayers.

1. Who are you and what is your role at IVP?

My name is Rochelle and I am the Marketing Campaigns Manager. I am responsible for ensuring IVP and Apollos titles are marketed to the world at large but on a microcosmic level into the hands of church leaders, academics and Christians who want to read informative and enriching books that are faithful to the Bible. I also have oversight of all aspects of digital marketing, including creating social media content, writing blog posts and sending digital newsletters.

2. What is something that you wished more people knew about you?

I became a Christian at the not so tender age of 24! I had grown up believing in a God of some sort and initially my grandmother used to make my sister and I join her for her church services but as we entered our teenage years I drifted away entirely from the faith adopting an agnostic stance. Fast forward 11 years later outside King’s Cross Rail Station a young lady shared the Gospel of Jesus and that evangelistic encounter changed my life for the better and led me to a real relationship with God for myself and not merely knowing about him through familial coercion.

3. Tell us about a passage of Scripture that has had a profound influence on your life

2 Corinthians 5:16-21 is one of my favourite passages as I remember coming across verse 17 in my early days of my walk with God. At the start of my journey, I grappled with guilt over the old lifestyle I used to have and I struggled with the concept of salvation making all things new within me. Verse 17 resonated with me and it helped me to accept the reality of becoming a new creation in Christ. The rest of the passage beautifully details the ministry of reconciliation entrusted to believers, all while acknowledging the need to live by faith and not by sight, awaiting the judgment seat of Christ. The passage reminds me about the love and unending grace of God that He so freely gives to us even when we don’t deserve it.

4. How are you uniquely equipped to support the ministry of IVP?

I hope to support IVP’s ministry by bridging the gap between biblical truth and the readers who need it mostI think I bring a different perspective to IVP and perhaps a fresh pair of eyes since I am a communications professional who is now transferring my skills into a publishing environment. I hope to reach new audiences in due course applying my years of communications and marketing experience across a range of sectors such as Higher Education, the Church and the Charity sector.

5. What excites you most about IVP’s work/what are your hopes for the future of IVP?

IVP has a rich legacy of publishing insightful, thought-provoking, and transformative Christian books that both inspire and challenge readers in their faith and academic journeys. It’s a privilege to be part of the team and I am most excited about getting to work on so many engaging and impactful titles in the upcoming months. I hope to see a surge in sales of IVP titles and to drive the efforts to make these books accessible to a wider audience. As the digital landscape evolves, I aim to leverage new tools and trends to keep IVP’s books relevant and accessible. Whether through SEO-optimised content, creative campaigns, or innovative book launches, I aim to strengthen IVP as a thought leader in Christian publishing.

6. How can readers be praying for you in your work at IVP?

I ask that you please pray for me to have a spirit of wisdom and understanding so that I thrive in the role and fulfil all that is expected of me as I embark on this new challenge in my career.
