IVP Authors Speaking at the European Leadership Forum 2026
Several authors published by Inter-Varsity Press will be taking part in the European Leadership Forum, which returns to Wisła, Poland, from 16–21 May 2026.
Each year the Forum gathers more than 800 evangelical leaders from across Europe for a week of Bible teaching, mentoring, collaboration and training. Its aim is to “unite, equip, and resource” leaders seeking to renew the biblical church and share the gospel across the continent.
The event brings together pastors, theologians, evangelists, academics and ministry practitioners for a programme designed to strengthen gospel leadership in a wide range of contexts.
Teaching, Networks and Mentoring
The Forum begins each day with a plenary session focused on Scripture. This year’s morning Bible teacher will be Colin Smith, president of the media ministry Open the Bible.
Evening plenaries will feature psychiatrist and author Pablo Martínez, theologian and practising barrister David McIlroy, and historian and speaker John Dickson.
Alongside the plenaries, participants are placed into one of 29 specialist networks, covering areas such as evangelism, youth ministry, apologetics, leadership, counselling, politics, discipleship, science, media and the arts. These smaller communities allow leaders working in similar areas to learn from one another and build lasting connections.
The programme also includes an Expo, where Christian organisations and universities share initiatives and resources, as well as opportunities for one-to-one mentoring, giving participants space to ask difficult questions, receive advice and prayer, or explore particular ministry challenges.
As Lindsay Brown explains:
“When we take initiative in Christian ministry, what you are doing is creating ripples that go on forever. Our hope is that out of this forum there will be ripples that are felt forever with eternal implications.”
Authors Contributing to the Forum
A number of authors published by Inter-Varsity Press will be speaking, teaching or participating in networks during the week.
Among them are:
- Darrell Bock, a leading New Testament scholar whose work explores the historical reliability of the Gospels and the life of Jesus.
- David Brown, known for his writing on theology, culture and the Christian intellectual tradition.
- Lindsay Brown, long involved in student evangelism and leadership development across Europe.
- Leonardo De Chirico, whose work engages thoughtfully with Roman Catholic theology and contemporary European Christianity.
- Andrew Fellows, whose new book releases this April and explores Christian faith and cultural engagement.
- Dirk Jongkind, a scholar specialising in New Testament manuscripts and textual reliability.
- Kristi Mair, who writes and speaks on faith, culture and apologetics.
- Pablo Martínez, integrating psychology, pastoral care and Christian theology.
- David McIlroy, whose forthcoming book will also be announced in the coming months.
- Stephen McQuoid, an international Bible teacher and conference speaker.
- Peter Mead, known for encouraging and equipping preachers in biblical teaching.
- Helen Thorne-Allenson, whose writing addresses pastoral care, trauma and spiritual wellbeing.
Encouraging Gospel Leadership Across Europe
For many leaders, the European Leadership Forum has become an important place for encouragement, training and partnership in ministry. By combining biblical teaching with practical networks, mentoring and collaboration, the Forum aims to strengthen those serving the church in a wide variety of contexts across Europe.
The presence of these authors reflects the ongoing conversation between scholarship, pastoral ministry and evangelism that continues to shape Christian leadership today. As leaders gather in Wisła this May, the hope is that the relationships, ideas and encouragement shared during the week will continue to bear fruit in churches, ministries and communities across Europe.
