We’re excited to share something a little different from IVP this August: our first ever children’s title and also a beautiful perpetual calendar from the same author!
Journey With Me for Kids: Bible Devotions for an Adventure with Jesus by Catherine Campbell, illustrated by Emma Skerratt, is a new devotional for children aged 8–12, helping them explore what it means to follow Jesus in their everyday lives.
For many of us, faith begins with the simple things: hearing Bible stories, learning to pray and asking questions about God. But as children grow, their questions and experiences become more personal. Friendships can become complicated. They may face peer pressure, anxiety or bullying, or simply wonder where they fit in.
Journey With Me for Kids was written with these everyday experiences in mind.
101 devotions for growing faith
The book contains 101 short devotions, each designed to help children spend a few minutes reading the Bible, thinking about what it means for them and talking to God.
Alongside Scripture, Catherine includes simple prayers, gentle questions and real-life examples that children can relate to. The devotions cover topics such as friendships, confidence, anxiety, peer pressure and dealing with difficult situations.
The aim is not to have all the answers, but to help children discover that they can bring their questions, worries and everyday experiences to Jesus.
Bringing the pages to life
Catherine Campbell is known for writing with warmth and honesty, and that comes through in these devotions. She writes in a way that makes biblical truth accessible while still giving children plenty to think about.
The book is beautifully illustrated by Emma Skerratt, whose colourful artwork brings another dimension to each reading. The result is a devotional that feels bright, engaging and inviting for young readers.
With 112 pages, a full-colour design and a foil-decorated cover, Journey With Me for Kids has been created to be something children will enjoy picking up each day.
This book also marks an important moment for us at IVP: Journey With Me for Kids is our first children’s title.
IVP has a long history of publishing books that help people engage with Scripture, theology and the Christian life. We’re delighted to be able to extend that work to children and to publish a resource that encourages them to develop their own relationship with Jesus.
Another first for IVP from Catherine
It’s also another first for author Catherine Campbell. Alongside Journey With Me for Kids, Catherine is also the author of Journey With Me Through The Year, a beautifully designed 366-page perpetual calendar offering a daily Bible verse and reflection.
Drawing on the same warmth and encouragement found in Journey With Me, the calendar offers a simple moment each day to pause, reflect and connect with God. With 366 entries, it can be used year after year, including in a leap year, making it a lasting companion for everyday life.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult season or celebrating the good things in life, each page offers a thoughtful reflection paired with Scripture – a simple way to keep the Bible part of everyday life.
Journey With Me Through The Year is another new release for August, publishing on 20 August 2026, just one day before Journey With Me for Kids.
Together, the two releases show the breadth of Catherine’s Journey With Me series – from helping children explore what it means to follow Jesus to encouraging readers of all ages to make space for Scripture and reflection in their everyday lives.
We’re pleased to be publishing both titles this August and to see the Journey With Me series continue to grow.
Journey With Me Through The Year by Catherine Campbell publishes on 20 August 2026, followed by Journey With Me for Kids: Bible Devotions for an Adventure with Jesus, illustrated by Emma Skerratt, on 21 August 2026. Both titles are available to pre-order now.
