Announcing a new co-editor for the NSBT: Dr. Benjamin L. Gladd

For almost 30 years, the New Studies in Biblical Theology has resourced pastors, engaged with vital questions, and established itself as the premier series of evangelical biblical theology. D. A. Carson has edited the NSBT since it's inception, and with continued interest in the series by both authors and readers, we are delighted to announce that we have signed a contract with Ben Gladd to co-edit the series with Carson.

Ben Gladd is well known as a New Testament scholar and biblical theologian - having worked with a number of publishers on a range of topics in biblical studies (including co-authoring 'Hidden but now revealed: a biblical theology of mystery' with G. K. Beale), we are delighted to have secured him as co-editor for the NSBT.

D. A. Carson says:

"I am delighted to announce that Ben Gladd is joining me as co-editor of the NSBT series. Dr Gladd is well known and admired for his rich grasp of biblical theology. I am looking forward to working with him."

Ben Gladd says:

"I’m honored to join Don and Apollos in this venture. Scripture is multilayered and exceedingly rich; much work has been done, yet much work remains."

Editorial Director Thomas Creedy adds:

"It is fantastic to have Ben on board. His incisive biblical-theological mind has already helped us shape and refine the vision for the series, and what we might do in the future. Ben also brings a range of connections and interests to the team - it's been exciting seeing some of those emerge as proposals for the series."

Ben Gladd serves the church as Professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, and is the co-host of 'The Biblical Theology Briefing', with NSBT author Matthew Harmon. He's also served as editor for the first ten volumes of IVP-USA's 'Essential Studies in Biblical Theology'. You can find out more about what Ben is up to, and what he's reading, by following him on Twitter and also on Instagram. Ben kindly answered a few questions about him and his hopes for the NSBT series for our blog.

The first volume that Carson and Gladd have coedited is 'Answering the Psalmist's Perplexity: New-Covenant Newness in the Books of Psalms' by James Hely Hutchinson. This will be the 62nd volume published, and a full list can be found here. 'Answering the Psalmist's Perplexity' will publish on the 19th of October here in the UK (and aroudn the world), and in January for the USA/Canada through our friends at InterVarsity Press USA.
