The St Andrews Literature Festival

St Andrews are putting on a literature festival! Find out more here.

As publishers, we love browsing bookshops, and we also really enjoy a good event, whether it is a book launch, a festival or a conference. So we were delighted to hear that St Andrew’s Bookshop is holding its first annual literature festival this year.  From 21-22 June 2024, over twenty authors will descend upon the churches of Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, for interviews, Q&As and book signings in what they say will be a ‘celebration of Christian literature.’

Two authors who feature in the line-up – Andy Kind and Andy Bannister – are well known to IVP:

Andy Kind contributed two chapters to IVP’s 2020 book, Healthy Faith And The Coronavirus Crisis, a multi-author volume on engaging in evangelism in Lockdown.   Having started his career in Stand-up in 2005, he now calls himself a ‘Promedian’ - a preacher and comedian - and offers preaching workshops alongside his regular preaching and comedic engagements and touring with his latest show.  He has also featured on various television channels.

Andy Bannister’s book, Do Muslims And Christians Worship The Same God? was published by IVP in March 2021.  Having grown up in multi-cultural inner-city London and completed a PhD in Islamic Studies, Andy is well-placed to draw comparisons between Islam and Christianity and ultimately to prove Christianity’s uniqueness in answering the question of who God is, as part of his wider apologetics minsitry.  In July 2023, we were delighted to publish How To Talk About Jesus Without Looking Like An Idiot, in which he draws on years of personal experience to offer a practical guide to sparking conversations about faith with the people around us. He is the director of the Solas centre for Public Christianity, and teaches and preaches worldwide in churches and universities, to those with faith and without.  His areas of expertise are faith, culture, politics and society.  He is the author of various books and publications, including a chapter in the above-mentioned Healthy Faith And The Coronavirus Crisis.
